Funny because true, which makes a way for tears, Jameson Fitzpatrick and Natalie Shapero manage different kinds of mordant candor in their poems – vulnerable, attentive, unafraid, and ardent. Crossing work, romantic partnership, parenthood, and friendship, Fitzpatrick and Shapero reveal great consequence, care, and brilliance in what we might otherwise ignore as banal or discard as unloveable. Jameson Fitzpatrick’s most recent book is Pricks in the Tapestry (Birds LLC) and Natalie Shapero’s Popular Longing is out this month on Copper Canyon Press.
We encourage enthusiastic readers and listeners to engage more deeply with Jameson Fitzpatrick's and Natalie Shapero's work by purchasing their books.
