#PoetryNearYou Pick of the Week: Reginald Gibbons and Ed Roberson

Reginald Gibbons and Ed Roberson will read and discuss their works, An Orchard in the Street (BOA Editions, Ltd., 2017) and To See the Earth Before the End of the World (Wesleyan University Press, 2010), at The Seminary Co-Op Bookstore, 5751 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637, on November 2, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Reginald Gibbons is the author of the poetry collections Last Lake (University of Chicago Press, 2016), Slow Trains Overhead: Chicago Poems and Stories (University of Chicago Press, 2010), and Creatures of a Day: Poems (LSU Press, 2008), which was a finalist for the National Book Award for poetry. He is a Frances Hooper Professor of Arts and Humanities at Northwestern University.

Ed Roberson is the author of eight books of poetry. He is the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Fellowship, the Shelley Memorial Award, and the Lila Wallace–Reader’s Digest Writers’ Award. His other books have won the Iowa Poetry Prize and the National Poetry Series. Having retired from Rutgers University, Roberson currently lives in Chicago, where he has taught at Columbia College Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago.
