Reginald Gibbons

Reginald Gibbons is the author of eleven poetry collections, including Young Woman with a Cane (Louisiana State University Press, 2025); Three Poems (Finishing Line Press, 2024); Last Lake (University of Chicago Press, 2016); Slow Trains Overhead: Chicago Poems and Stories (University of Chicago Press, 2010); and Creatures of a Day: Poems (LSU Press, 2008), a National Book Award finalist. 

Gibbons, who has been a recipient of the Chicago Public Library’s Carl Sandburg Award, is also a translator of Greek and Spanish poets. He is the Frances Hooper Professor of Arts and Humanities at Northwestern University and lives in Evanston, Illinois.
