In 2024, Nandi Comer was named an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. Comer will launch Michigan Words, a statewide billboard campaign celebrating contemporary Michigan’s poetry. The billboards will feature excerpts of the work of contemporary Michigan poets, along with QR codes directing viewers to the Library of Michigan’s website where individuals can learn more about the program.
