Yaxkin Melchy Ramos

Marcelo Hernandez Castillo is the author of Children of the Land: A Memoir (HarperCollins, 2020) and the poetry collection, Cenzontle (BOA Editions, 2018), which Brenda Shaughnessy selected as the winner of the 2017 A. Poulin Jr. Prize. He teaches at St. Mary’s College of California and in Ashland University’s low-residency MFA program. Hernandez Castillo lives in Northern California, on unceded Maidu, Miwok, and Nisenan land.
