Taylor Byas

Taylor Byas is a Black poet and the author of two poetry collections: Resting Bitch Face (Soft Skull Press, 2025) and I Done Clicked My Heels Three Times (Soft Skull Press, 2023), winner of the 2023 Maya Angelou Book Award, the 2023 Chicago Review of Books Award in Poetry, and the 2024 Ohioana Book Award in Poetry. Originally from Chicago, Byas lives in Cincinnati, on traditional Shawnee and Myaamia (Miami) lands.
