Nick Laird is a poet, novelist, screenwriter, and critic from Northern Ireland. He is the author of five poetry collections, including Up Late (W. W. Norton, 2023); Feel Free (W. W. Norton, 2019); and Go Giants (W. W. Norton, 2013).
Laird’s honors include the Eric Gregory Award, the Rooney Prize, the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize, the Somerset Maugham Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Laird teaches at New York University and is a professor of creative writing in poetry at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s University, Belfast. He lives in New York and Ireland.
