Marcelo Morales

Marcelo Morales is a Cuban poet and writer. He is the author of numerous poetry collections, including two bilingual editions translated by Kristin Dykstra: The Star-Spangled Brand (Veliz Books, 2025) and El mundo como ser [The World as Presence] (University of Alabama Press, 2016), long-listed by the American Literary Translators’ Association for the National Translation Award. He is also the recipient of the 1997 Pinos Nuevos Prize for his first collection, Cinema (Letras Cubanas, 1997). 

In addition to his poetry, Morales has published one novel, La espiral [The Spiral] (Sed de belleza, 2006).
