Kristin Dykstra

Kristin Dykstra is a poet and translator originally from Ohio. She is the author of the poetry collection Dissonance (University of Chicago Press, 2025). Her many translations include The Star-Spangled Brand (Veliz Books, 2025) by Marcelo Morales; The Winter Garden Photograph (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2019) by Reina María Rodríguez; and The Counterpunch (and Other Horizontal Poems) (The University of Alabama Press, 2016), by Juan Carlos Flores.

Dykstra is the recipient of the 2025 Phoenix Emerging Poet Book Prize from the University of Chicago Press; the 2020 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation; and a 2012 Translation Project Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, among other awards. 

A Distinguished Scholar in Residence and the director of a first-year seminar at Saint Michael’s College, she lives in Vermont.
