Lauren K. Alleyne

Lauren K. Alleyne is the author of Honeyfish (New Issues, 2019), which received the 2018 Green Rose Prize, and Difficult Fruit (Peepal Tree Press, 2014). She was also the co-editor of Furious Flower: Seeding the Future of African American Poetry (Northwestern, 2020).

Alleyne is currently the executive director of the Furious Flower Poetry Center, having previously served as assistant director, and the editor-in-chief of the center’s quarterly journal, The Fight & The Fiddle. Alleyne is also an associate professor of English at James Madison University. She lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
