Jared Stanley

Jared Stanley is a poet and prose writer who often collaborates with visual artists. He is the author of four books of poetry: So Tough (Saturnalia Books, 2024); Ears (Nightboat Books, 2017); The Weeds (Salt Publishing, 2012); and Book Made of Forest (Salt Publishing, 2009).

Stanley’s awards include the 2018 Silver Pen Award from the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame, Harvard Library’s 2020–21 Woodberry Poetry Room Creative Fellowship, shared with the visual artist Sameer Farooq for their collaborative project “A Lip Smack, Laughter, Paper Rustles,” and the 2022 Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize, selected by Roberto Tejada.

Stanley teaches in the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Nevada, Reno, and lives in Reno.
