The international quarterly founded in 1934, publishes contemporary writing, interviews, translations, photography and artwork. New Letters on the Air, the radio companion to the journal New Letters, is a half-hour literature program produced in the studios of KCUR-FM on the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. It is distributed nationally via the public radio satellite system. Every week, the program presents a contemporary author reading from his or her work and talking about the craft of writing and personal inspirations.
