Teen Poetry Contest

Share your voice. Share your experience. Create poetry.

The Teen Library, a service of Eckhart Public Library, is thrilled to announce its 22nd annual poetry contest in celebration of National Poetry Month this April. The contest aims to foster creativity, self-expression, and a love for poetry among young writers.

This contest is open to northeastern Indiana students in 6th - 12th grades. Poems can be submitted April 1st through April 30th.

Judging will be conducted by multiple Eckhart Public Library staff members, ensuring a fair and thorough evaluation process. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in both high school and middle school divisions. Contest results will be announced and winners notified in May.

Winners will not only receive recognition for their literary talents but will also have their poems published alongside other submissions in an anthology available at The Teen Library. Many volumes of anthologies from previous years are available to read in the library or to check out.

If you are sharing your poem via Google Doc or other link, please make sure to enable your sharing settings. Submit poems here.
