Curated by the Guggenheim’s Poet-in-Residence Taylor Johnson, Spirit of Sound brings together Jonah Mixon-Webster, M. NourbeSe Philip, Justin Phillip Reed, and Simone White to explore the intersection of poetry, sound, and music. Following brief presentations of their current work, the panelists will come together for a conversation moderated by Johnson that unpacks the relationship between language and auditory experience.
This panel is part of a series of conversations conceptualized by Johnson that brings poets into dialogue with practitioners from various fields, highlighting a cross-pollination between different disciplines to explore topics such as movement, sound, and architecture.
This program is free with RSVP. Registration is required. Please note that attendance is limited, however, and registration does not guarantee entry.
