Saint Louis Poetry Center’s “Poetry at the Point” will feature Jill McEldowney and Ariana Yeatts-Lonske on October 27. The poets will read from their work, followed by a conversation with series curators Macallan Lay and Andy Chen. Audiences may attend in person at Focal Point or watch the live stream on Saint Louis Poetry Center’s website and Facebook page. Books may be available directly from the featured poets. The event is free.
JILL MCELDOWNEY is the author of the full-length collections “Alydar” (YesYes Books, 2026) and “Otherlight” (YesYes Books, 2023), winner of a North American Book Award. Her work has also been published by the Academy of American Poets, Prairie Schooner, Tupelo Quarterly, Frontier, and Muzzle, among other notable publications. She is a founder and editor of Madhouse Press and a recipient of a grant from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico.
ARIANA YEATTS-LONSKE was raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Her writing has won an Academy of American Poets Prize and she was recently short-listed by Only Poems for their Poet of the Year Award. Her poems appear or are forthcoming in Best New Poets, Frontier Poetry, december, and elsewhere. She lives in St. Louis and works as a chronic illness coach.
