A Reading by Shane McCrae

The University of  Connecticut’s Creative Writing Program is pleased to announce that poet Shane McCrae will read from his work on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 6:00 pm at the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore, Storrs Center in Storrs, Connecticut.
 
Shane McCrae is the author of six books of poetry, most recently In the Language of My Captor (2017). His other books include The Animal Too Big to Kill: Poems (2015), Forgiveness, Forgiveness (2014), Mule: Poems (2011), and The Rat’s Nest (2011). His most recent work, In the Language of My Captor (2017), was the winner of the 2018 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Poetry, and was a finalist for the National Book Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the William Carlos Williams Award, and The Gilded Auction Block (2018). He is the recipient of a Lannan Literary Award, a Whiting Writer’s Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Shane McCrae earned a BA at Linfield College, an MA at the University of Iowa, an MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and a JD at Harvard Law School. He now teaches at Columbia University and lives in New York City.
