#PoetryNearYou Pick of the Week: A Reading by Alicia Mountain & Andrew Hachey

Join poets Alicia Mountain and Andrew Hachey for a reading on Monday, July 11, 2018, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at So & So Books in Raleigh, NC. 

Alicia Mountain’s first collection, High Ground Coward (Iowa, 2018), was selected by Brenda Shaughnessy as a winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize. She is also the author of the digital chapbook Thin Fire, selected by Natalie Diaz and published by BOAAT Press. She has been a Pushcart Prize nominee, an Idyllwild Arts Fellow and a resident at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts. She is a lesbian poet, PhD student, and assistant editor of the Denver Quarterly. Mountain earned her MFA at the University of Montana in Missoula. Keep up with her on twitter at @HiGroundCoward.
 
Andrew Hachey is a poet originally from Toronto, whose work has appeared in Quiet Lunch, The Occulum, Atlantis Magazine, Memoir Mixtapes, and is forthcoming in Fjords Review. He is an assistant editor at C&R Press, and a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada. As a founding member of the international theatre collective, 404 Strand, he co-created and appeared in an award-winning adaptation of Michael Ondaatje’s The Collected Works of Billy the Kid which ran in various theatres in Paris, Madrid, and Pittsburgh. He is currently an MFA candidate at North Carolina State University, and lives in Raleigh with his son, Abbott.
