Unfolded: Poetry Project Workshop || Proclaiming the Unspoken

Led by Unfolded: Poetry Project founder Victoria Lopez, “Proclaiming the Unspoken” invites poets to explore the moment an internal thought moves from private reflection into spoken declaration.

Through soliloquy, poetic monologue, proclamation, rhetorical questions, repetition, direct address, the volta, pacing, pauses, and shifts in emotional intensity, participants will write with the voice as an instrument; moving from quiet reflection to declaration. Writers will be challenged to move through unexpected emotional perspectives while building a completed poem designed to be performed, not simply read.

All experience levels are welcome.

This is a hybrid workshop. Participants may attend in person at McAllen Public Library or join online. The workshop is free and open to writers, poets, artists, listeners, feelers, and thinkers of all ages. Writing materials will be provided for in-person participants.
