January Gill O’Neil is the author of Rewilding (fall 2018), Misery Islands (2014), and Underlife (2009), published by CavanKerry Press. She is an assistant professor of English at Salem State University, and boards of trustees member with the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) and Montserrat College of Art. From 2012-2018, she served as executive director of the Massachusetts Poetry Festival. A Cave Canem fellow, January’s poems and articles have appeared in the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-A-Day series, American Poetry Review, New England Review, Ploughshares, and Ecotone, among others. In 2018, January was awarded a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant, and was named the John and Renée Grisham Writer in Residence for 2019-2020 at the University of Mississippi, Oxford. She lives with her two children in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Joseph O. Legaspi is the author of the poetry collections Threshold and Imago, both from CavanKerry Press; and three chapbooks: Postcards (Ghost Bird Press), Aviary, Bestiary (Organic Weapon Arts), and Subways (Thrush Press). Recent works have appeared in POETRY, New England Review, Massachusetts Review, and the anthology Reel Verse (Everyman’s Library). He cofounded Kundiman, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing generations of writers and readers of Asian American literature.
Harriet Levin’s new poetry collection My Oceanography reads like “Furies on fire,” (Book Club Babble). She is the author of two previous collections, The Christmas Show, which was chosen by Eavan Boland for the Barnard New Women Poets Prize, and Girl in Cap and Gown, a National Poetry Series Finalist. She is also the author of the debut novel, How Fast Can You Run, A Novel Based on the Life of Michael Majok Kuch, which came out of a project she founded to reunite Lost Boys and Girls of Sudan with their mothers living abroad and was profiled on NPR. Other book prizes include The Poetry Society of America’s Alice Fay di Castagnola Award, A PEW Fellowship in the Arts Discipline Award, The Ellen LaForge Memorial Poetry Prize and Nimrod International’s Pablo Neruda Prize. She holds a MFA from the University of Iowa and teaches creative writing and directs the Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing at Drexel University.
Danny Shot was longtime publisher and editor of Long Shot arts and literary magazine, which he founded. He has spent over the past 30 years as a New York City high school English teacher in the South Bronx, Harlem and Brooklyn. His poems and stories have been widely anthologized and he’s performed his work everywhere. Mr. Shot lives in Hoboken, NJ (home of Frank Sinatra and baseball). His book of poems WORKS, was published by CavanKerry Press in March 2018. His play Roll the Dice was produced in September 2018 as part of the New York Theater Festival. Danny currently serves as Head Poetry Editor of Red Fez online magazine.
