Poetry Reading/Chris Franke & Terry Provost

Mac's will host a poetry reading with Chris Franke and Terry Provost on Wednesday, August 9th at 7 p.m. followed by an open mic.
 
Christopher Franke was born (1941) and raised in Lakewood, Ohio. He has been the editor of Everyman and founded Deciduous Press (1970). Chris prints out poetry broadsides (his work and others) to give out at readings and poetry gatherings. He was a guest editor for an issue of the famed ArtCrimes, and had his poetry appear in numerous publications, including (a collage poem) inThe English Record, Forum: Ten Poets of the Western Reserve (Ohio Poets Series, 1978), Select Routines (P2B Press), Title (CSU, 1975), Laugh  Literary and Man the Humping Guns (edited by Charles Bukowski and Neeli Cherry), frankeana/miscellangy (1996), and Paren’s Thesis (Taproot/Burning Press, 1997), plus many more.  As the Caffeine Kicks In was recently published by NightBallet Press
 
Originally from Troy, New York, Terry Provost graduated with a BS in physics, from St. Bonaventure University, an MS in medical physics from the University of Colorado, and an MS in Mathematics from Cleveland State. He has been writing poetry for over 20 years, and has performed his poetry from Seattle to Providence. He has published two books of poetry, Compassionate Imperialism (Deep Cleveland), and An Uncountable Infinity of Orgasms (Nightballet), and currently hosts the highly respected Bowled Over by Poetry Reading series, on first Mondays at Mahall's.
 
He lives in Lakewood, Ohio, with his wife, Karen Cook, and son, Jackson, and is an adjunct professor of mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College. His poetry is inordinately concerned with what makes meaning mean, justice just, creativity create, music muse, and importance import.
