Kate Buckley, Laguna Beach’s inaugural poet laureate, is launching a Poet Laureate’s Showcase series of readings, aimed at bringing nationally known poets to Laguna Beach. She’s kicking off the series with two events featuring such literary luminaries as Christopher Merrill, Kathryn Nuernberger, and Noah Blaustein. The first event, featuring readings by Blaustein, Buckley, and Merrill, followed by a Q&A, will be held this Wednesday evening, June 21th, at the Laguna Beach Public Library, 363 Glenneyre Street, Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
The reading and Q&A with the poets will be held from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public. The second event currently scheduled will feature readings by Blaustein, Buckley, and Nuernberger, and will be held on Tuesday, July 18th at 7:30pm at The Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach. The reading will last one hour and be followed by an audience Q&A with the poets, as well as a book signing. The event is open to the public, and free with admission to the Sawdust Festival.
