This craft talk will feature poet Mark Doty, who will discuss Ekphrastic Poems: Engaging with the other arts.
Ellen Bass Living Room Craft Talks: The Third Series is online and running live via Zoom on Fridays, April 2, 9, 16, 30, May 7 and 14. You will be able to access a recorded viewing Through June 30, 2021. You do not need to have taken the previous Living Room Craft Talks to attend this series.
Ellen will be presenting practical teachings that you’ll be able to put to use at whatever stage of development you’re at—whether you’re just beginning, somewhere in the great middle, or are an accomplished and published poet. These talks are focused on poetry, but prose writers are welcome. This precise attention to structure and language will enrich your work as well.
You’ll be reading exemplary poems from a large and diverse group of poets. And there will be guest appearances from these amazing poets: Kwame Dawes, Mark Doty, Linda Gregerson, Danusha Laméris, Nicole Sealy, and Patricia Smith!
Registration is $300 for the series. Scholarships offered for BIPOC and financial need.
