Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center presents an evening of poetry by two local authors, Ivan Smason and Brendan Constantine. Mr. Smason will present work from his vast oeuvre. Mr. Constantine returns with new poems and selections from his books. Reception and signing to follow.

Dr. Ivan Smason is a poet and licensed psychologist. His poems have appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, UCLA La Gente, Montreal Gazette, Buffalo Artvoice, University of Alaska Fairbanks Sun Star, and Illinois Times, among other periodicals. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of New Mexico and his JD from University of the Pacific. He has been listed in Marquis' Who's Who in America.
Brendan Constantine's work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, FIELD, Ploughshares, Virginia Quarterly, and Ninth Letter, among other journals. His most recent collection is Dementia My Darling (Red Hen Press, 2016). He has received grants and commissions from the Getty Museum, James Irvine Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He currently teaches poetry at the Windward School and regularly offers classes to hospitals, foster homes, veterans and the elderly.
