Poet and translator Gabrielle Bates will give a public reading as part of the UT Creative Writing Series. Bates is the author of Judas Goat (Tin House, 2023; the87press, 2025), a New York Times Book Review Critic’s Pick and NPR Best Book of 2023, and a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Ploughshares, the Sewanee Review, and the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day series. The event is free and open to the public.
