Language carries violence. How do writers, coming from all professions, develop an ethic in language’s teaching, construction, and connotation?

Inspired by June Jordan’s essay “Nobody Mean More to Me than You and the Future Life of Willie Jordan”, this workshop focuses on reclaiming authenticity, moving away from white cultural ideas of legibility, and towards the power of Black English through in-class prompts, group readings of poetry and theory, and super fun group discussions.
