Constellating Wonder: Maria Popova and Friends Celebrate Twenty Years of The Marginalian

A singular evening of literature, music, science, philosophy, and storytelling honoring the twentieth anniversary of one of the world’s most beloved independent literary publications, The Marginalian. Taking place at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on October 23, 2026—exactly twenty years after Popova shared the very first “Brain Pickings” email with seven colleagues—the one-night-only event will bring together an extraordinary constellation of poets, artists, writers, musicians, scientists, and performers, among them Diane Ackerman, Stephon Alexander, Sophie Blackall, Natalie Batalha, Willow Defebaugh, James Gleick, Marie Howe, Joan as Police Woman, Zoë Keating, Wendy MacNaughton, Debbie Millman, Krista Tippett, and The Young People’s Chorus of New York, alongside special contributions by Nick Cave, Natasha McElhone, and Paola Prestini.
