7th Annual TN Poets Day

Saturday, April 29th, 2023 (10:00 AM – 3:30 PM/ CST)

 

EVENTs Description:

The Tennessee Poets Day (Est. 2017) is an Annual “All Day POETRY” Events organized by Poets From the Neighborhood (PFTN) to Celebrate the National Poetry Month, as one of PFTN’s community outreach volunteer efforts – FREE & OPEN to Public (All Ages). The 7th Annual Tennessee Poets Day -2023 will be a Hybrid - Virtual & On-site events and are bound to inspire Poets of all ages & stages 

 

The On-site Celebration will be On April, 29th, Saturday (10:00 AM – 3:30 PM) at the Williamson County Public Library (WCPL – Main Branch), Franklin, TN.

 

ON-SITE EVENTs: Welcome & Introduction by TN POETs DAY Founder /Organizer- Veera Dr. Rajaratnam S. (10:00 AM); Opening Ceremony Guest Speaker Honorable WC Mayor Rogers Anderson (10:00 AM) will also present the PFTN Awards-2023. Events include a Lecture on Poetry & Country Music by TN Poet Laureate Margaret Britton Vaughn (11:00 AM); Lecture & Workshop on Sonnet by Renowned TN POET Jeff Hardin (1:30 PM); Author Book-Signings & Readings by David M. Harris, Jeff Hardin, Veeraja R, Margaret B. Vaughn, Amie Whittemore, Henry L. Jones & more TN Poets (to sign up).There will be TWO Open-Mic Poetry Sessions (10:30 AM & 1:00 PM) On-site, Free & Open to Public (all Ages/SignUp at the Door). Open-Mic Emcee: David M. Harris. VIRTUAL Events include PFTN - 2023 - Featured Poetry Presentations, Recorded at PFTN’s FEATURED POET Series held via ZOOM throughout the year on TN POETs Open-Mic Poetry held weekly – every Thursdays. This Year’s Featured Poets Include Hendersonville’s Poet Laureate Henry L. Jones, Internationally Renowned Haiku Captain Michael Dylan Welch and Murfreesboro’s Poet Laureate Amie Whittemore. These Virtual events initiated in 2020 during Pandemic Social distancing and hosted by JoyPoet VeerajaR (Executive Producer/Volunteer PFTN program - since 2013 on WC-TV, TN) weekly as part of TN POET’s & PFTN’s Community Outreach efforts continue to thrive as a means of collaboration with Poets nationwide and Poetry enthusiasts around the world.

 

GUIDELINES: All POETRY for Reading on TN POETS Open Mics & all Virtual or in-Person Programs of Poets From The Neighborhood (PFTN) & Poetry Submissions to PFTN: Need to be - 1) your Original Work, 2) Family Friendly and 3) of Clean language (no Profanity, please!).

*There is NO AGE LIMIT!                                                              

**All TN POETs DAY Events & Open-Mic Poetry Open to Public will be Recorded by WC-TV, TN (to be Aired on WC-TV, TN &  Streamed On-Line at a later date)!
