6th Annual Tennessee Poets Day 2022 (In Person)

The Tennessee Poets Day is an annual day of poetry events organized by Poets From the Neighborhood (PFTN) to celebrate the National Poetry Month, as one of PFTN’s community outreach volunteer efforts. The 6th Annual Tennessee Poets Day 2022 will be hybrid (virtual & onsite) events with several renowned poets and are bound to inspire poets of all ages & stages. 

The onsite celebration will be on April 30, Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. CDT) at the Williamson County Public Library (WCPL – Main Branch) in Franklin, TN. For the virtual event and open mic, please click here for more info.

ONSITE EVENTS: 

- Welcome & opening remarks by TN POETS DAY founder / organizer - Dr. Rajaratnam Veera S

- Opening ceremony speech by honorable WC Mayor Rogers Anderson and PFTN awards presentation with WCPL representative Jeffie Nicholson. 

- Events include key-note poetry by renowned TN poet Jeff Hardin, a lecture by TN poet laureate Margaret Britton Vaughn on poetry & song-writing, authors book signing & readings by Bill Brown, Catherine Moore, David M. Harris, Jeff Hardin, Veeraja R and Margaret B. Vaughn.

- There will be TWO open-mic poetry sessions (10:30 AM & 1:00 PM).

- On-site open to public (all ages / can sign up at the door) – Emcee: David M. Harris.
