This April, tens of millions of readers, students, K-12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, bloggers, and poets will celebrate National Poetry Month, marking poetry’s important place in our culture and our lives. Join the celebration by requesting a free National Poetry Month poster, designed by Roz Chast, and displaying it proudly, and by using the new National Poetry Month logo to promote your poetry events.
Students in grades 5-12 can engage with poetry this National Poetry Month by participating in our Dear Poet project, and teachers who want to participate with their classes can access a free Dear Poet lesson plan.
On April 15, join us at Poetry & the Creative Mind at Lincoln Center and, on April 30, carry a poem and share it with others for National Poem in Your Pocket Day!
We've collected 30 ways to celebrate National Poetry Month. Share feedback, tips, and photos from your own celebrations with us at [email protected] or on social media using #npm15.
