This archival document comes courtesy of Mademoiselle magazine, a now-defunct lifestyle magazine that advertised itself as “the magazine for smart young women.” Plath was featured in the magazine in 1952 as the winner of its fiction contest, and she joined the magazine again the following year as a guest editor. In this 1959 issue of Mademoiselle, Plath is included as part of its “Four Young Poets” feature, alongside her poem “The Times are Tidy.” In the article, she discusses her marriage, then in its third year, to fellow poet Ted Hughes.
