Trish Salah was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is a poet of Lebanese and Irish heritage. She received a BA and an MA in English and creative writing from Concordia University, as well as a PhD in English literature from York University.

Salah is the author of Lyric Sexology Vol. 1, Second Edition (Metonymy Press, 2017) and Wanting in Arabic (TSAR Publications, 2002), which was released in a second edition in 2013 and awarded the 2014 Lambda Literary Award for Best Transgender Fiction.

A recipient of an Affinity Credit Union LGBTT Community Service Award, a Canada Council Writing and Publishing Grant, and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Insight Grant, Salah currently serves as an associate professor of gender studies at Queen’s University. She lives in Toronto, or Tkaronto, unceded territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples.
