Jan-Henry Gray
Jan-Henry Gray is a queer poet who was born in the Philippines and grew up in California. A graduate of San Francisco State University and Columbia College Chicago’s MFA program, he is the author of Documents (BOA Editions, 2019), chosen by D. A. Powell as the winner of 2018 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize.
Gray is the recipient of the inaugural Undocupoets Fellowship, the 2014 Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award, and a 2016 University & College Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets. Among other titles, he is an assistant professor and director of the creative writing MFA program at Adelphi University. Gray lives in Brooklyn.
