The Wind Shifts: New Latino Poetry features works by twenty-five new and emerging Latino and Latina voices in the twenty-first century. Poets featured in the anthology include Naomi Ayala, Richard Blanco, David Dominguez, Gina Franco, Sheryl Lunda, and Urayoán Noel. Representing a diverse span of subject content and forms, the poetry in this collection establishes itself as what El Paso Times called “a compelling and exhilarating addition to Latino letters.”

The Wind Shifts was edited by poet Francisco Aragón, director of Letras Latinas at the University of Notre Dame, and associate professional specialist at the university’s Institute for Latino Studies. The anthology also includes a foreword by Academy Chancellor and U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera.
