To compile Poets on Place (Utah State University Press, 2005), W. T. Pfefferle traveled the United States to interview sixty-two poets about the importance of place in their work. By interviewing such a large and diverse body of poets, including Campbell McGrath, Carol Muske-Dukes, Terrance Hayes, Alberto Rios, Natasha Trethewey, Charles Wright, and Mark Wunderlich, Pfefferle creates a surprising and eclectic anthology that highlights the challenges and comforts of writing within (or against) a particular locale.
