New York, NY (April 7, 2025)—In alliance with the Amazon Literary Partnership, the Academy of American Poets invites poetry organizations and presses to submit applications for grants from the Poetry Fund, which will be awarded in 2025.

Since 2009, the Amazon Literary Partnership has provided more than $17 million in grant funding to empower writers by helping them create, publish, learn, teach, experiment, and thrive, while supporting organizations working to champion diverse, marginalized, and underrepresented authors and storytellers. The Amazon Literary Partnership launched the Poetry Fund with the Academy of American Poets in 2018 to further its role as a supporter of poetry organizations nationwide.

The Academy of American Poets' grant-making panel this year includes Glenis Redmond, Poet Laureate of Greenville, South Carolina, and 2023 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow; Bernard Schwartz, Executive Producer of Literary Programs at the Authors Guild; and Jessica Strand, Senior Director of Programming and Strategic Engagement at the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.

Grant applications are being accepted now through May 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Final award decisions will be made by the Amazon Literary Partnership in tandem with the Academy. Grant recipients will be notified by June 27, 2025.
