Youmna Chlala

Youmna Chlala is a writer and artist from Beirut and the author of The Paper Camera (Litmus Press, 2019). The recipient of an O. Henry Award and a Joseph Henry Jackson Award, she is co-editor of Spatial Species, a series from Coffee House Press. She has exhibited her artwork at the Bienal de São Paulo, LIAF Biennial, Performa Biennial, Hayward Gallery, The Drawing Center, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, and the MAK Center for Art and Architecture. A professor of writing, humanities, and media studies at the Pratt Institute, she lives in Brooklyn.
