Yesenia Montilla

Yesenia Montilla is an Afro-Latina poet, translator, and professor of Cuban, Dominican, and Puerto Rican ancestry. She is the author of Muse Found in a Colonized Body (Four Way Books, 2022), a finalist for a 2023 NAACP Image Award, and The Pink Box (Aquarius Press, 2015). Her poetry has also been anthologized in Latino Poetry (The Library of America, 2024), edited by Rigoberto González, and The Best American Poetry 2021 and 2022, among others. Montilla lives in Harlem, New York, on Lenape land.
