Yahya Frederickson

Yahya Frederickson is a Muslim American poet and the author of The Last Eelpouts, (North Dakota State University Press, 2026), as well as numerous chapbooks. He earned his BA from Minnesota State University Moorhead, his MFA from the University of Montana, and his PhD from the University of North Dakota. Frederickson was a Fulbright Scholar in Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Kyrgyzstan and was the recipient of the Academy of American Poets’ Thomas McGrath Award. A professor of English at Minnesota State University Moorhead, he lives in northern Minnesota, on Dakota and Anishinaabe land.
