Wang Jiaxin

Wang Jiaxin is a poet, essayist, and literary translator. Regarded as one of the most important post-Misty poets, he is the author of five collections of poetry, nine books of literary criticism, and two books of translation. When the Cultural Revolution ended, he was admitted to Wuhan University in 1978 and, after graduation, worked as a teacher and editor. Wang went to London in 2002 as a visiting scholar and returned to China in 2004. His collections of poetry include Darkening Mirror: New and Selected Poems (Tebot Bach, 2016), edited and translated by George O’Connell and Diana Shi. He is a professor of literature at Renmin University in Beijing.
