Vinod Kumar Shukla is the author of Treasurer of Piggy Banks, translated from the Hindi by Arvind Krishna Mehrotra (Circumference Books, 2024). Kumar Shukla taught at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur. His first publication, in 1971, was a poetry chapbook, Lagbhag Jaihind (Hail India, Almost). He has since published more than a dozen books that include both poetry and fiction. Among his many awards are the Sahitya Akademi Award and the 2023 PEN/Nabokov Award for Achievement in International Literature.
