Valencia Robin
Valencia Robin, a painter and a poet, holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Virginia and an MFA in art design from the University of Michigan.
Robin is the author of Ridiculous Light (Persea Books, 2019), winner of Persea Books’ Lexi Rudnitksy First Book Prize, a finalist for the Kate Tufts Discovery Award, and one of Library Journal’s Best Poetry Books of 2019.
A Cave Canem Fellow, Robin’s honors include a 2021 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, the Emily Clark Balch Prize, and the Hocking Hills Power of Poetry Prize.
Robin is the cofounder of GalleryDAAS at the University of Michigan, and a codirector of the University of Virginia’s Young Writers Workshop. She lives and teaches in Charlottesville, Virginia.
