Thom Donovan

Thom Donovan is a poet, curator, and editor. He has a BA from Oberlin College and a PhD in English from SUNY Buffalo.

Donovan is the author of nine chapbooks and two full-length poetry collections: Withdrawn (Compline Press, 2015) and The Hole (Displaced Press, 2012). He edited the essay collection Occupy Poetics (Essay Press, 2015); coedited, with Brandon Shimoda, the two-volume retrospective To Look at the Sea Is to Become What One Is: An Etel Adnan Reader (Nightboat Books, 2014); and coedited, with poet Michael Cross, Supple Science: A Robert Kocik Primer (ON Contemporary Practice, 2013). 

Donovan is the cofounder and coeditor, with Cross and poet Kyle Schlesinger, of the online journal ON Contemporary Practice. He has been a visiting professor at Wesleyan University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Bard College, New York University, Baruch College, and New Jersey Institute of Technology. He currently teaches at School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, and Pratt Institute.
