Tan Lin

1957 –

Tan Lin is a poet, author, and filmmaker, born in Seattle, Washington in 1957.

He is the author of several poetry collections, including Heath Course Pak Rfc (Counterpath, 2012), 7 Controlled Vocabularies and Obituary 2004. The Joy of Cooking (Wesleyan University Press, 2010), winner of the 2012 Association for Asian American Studies Book Award in Poetry, and Plagiarism/Outsource (Zasterle, 2009).

He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Gertrude Stein Award for Innovative American Poetry in 1984 and 1986, a Getty Distinguished Scholar Grant for 2004-2005, and the Andy Warhol Foundation/Creative Capital Arts Writing Grant for 2006-2007. 

A teacher at Columbia University School of the Arts and New Jersey City University, Lin lives in New York.
