Sanam Sheriff

Sanam Sheriff is a queer, Indian poet and earned their MFA in creative writing from Washington University in St. Louis.

Sheriff is the author of HUM ہم (University of Nebraska Press, 2026). The recipient of fellowships from the Watson Foundation and Kundiman, Sheriff was a visiting assistant professor of creative writing at Bryn Mawr College from 2022 to 2025. 

She lives in Philadelphia, on Lenape land, where she is the curator of The Poets’ Studio workshop series at Twelve Gates Arts.
