Rick Bursky
Rick Bursky is a poet, photographer, and former U.S. military paratrooper born and raised in New York City. Bursky received his BFA from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and an MFA from Warren Wilson College.
Bursky’s collections of poetry include Let’s Become a Ghost Story (BOA Editions, 2020); I’m No Longer Troubled by the Extravagance (BOA Editions, 2015); and his first collection, The Soup of Something Missing (Bear Star Press, 2004), which won the Dorothy Brunsman Poetry Prize.
Bursky has taught at ArtCenter College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design, USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism, and UCLA Extension Writers’ Program. He lives in Los Angeles.
