Nezahualcoyotl
Nezahualcoyotl was a fifteenth-century poet, warrior, and ruler of the Aztec city-state Tetzcoco. What survives of his poetry can be found in the Romances de los señores de la Nueva España, a sixteenth-century manuscript of Nahuatl poetry likely compiled by his great-grandson, Juan Bautista Pomar. He died on June 4, 1472.
