Morris Rosenfeld
Morris Rosenfeld, born Moshe Jacob Alter on December 28, 1862 in Stare Boksze in Russian Poland, was a Yiddish poet, journalist, and short story writer. He was the author of many titles, including Di blumenkette (Self-published, 1890), Lider-bukh (Self-published, 1897), and Dos bukh fun libe (Hoypṭ farḳoyf bay M. Gureṿiṭsh, 1914). Before reaching fame as a writer, he made his living in various New York City sweatshops, providing the subject matter for much of his subsequent writing. He died on June 22, 1923.
