Mirabai
Mirabai was a Hindu mystic poet and devotee of Krishna, born, around 1498, a princess in the Mewar region of present-day Rajasthan, India.
Renowned for defying the conventions expected of her royal station, she composed devotional songs, still widely sung today. Her poems, transmitted for centuries in oral and manuscript traditions, remain central to the bhakti devotional movement.
She died around 1547.
