Marissa Davis​​ is the author of My Name & Other Languages I Am Learning How to Speak (Jai-Alai Books, 2020). 

In 2023, Davis was a recipient of a NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship. Also the winner of Cave Canem’s 2019 Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady Chapbook Prize, Davis is from Paducah, Kentucky, and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
