Maria Dahvana Headley
Maria Dahvana Headley is the author of eight books, including Beowulf: A New Translation (Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 2020), winner of the 2021 Harold Morton Landon Translation Award, The Mere Wife (Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 2018), and two novels for young adults: Magonia (HarperCollins, 2015), and Aerie (HarperCollins, 2016). Her work has been shortlisted for the Joyce Carol Oates, Nebula, Shirley Jackson and Hugo Awards. Headley teaches in the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence.
